Goodreads asked Lisa Lee Curtis:

Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?

Lisa Lee Curtis On my "personal Facebook page" I created an album that I initially titled "Balls," i.e. "Oh they have the balls to do THIS big important thing . . ." and started collecting pictures of women who have done cool shit throughout history. I renamed it "Like a girl . . . " for a play on "throw like a girl," etc. But I later changed it simply to "Strength."

From there, I wrote a few articles for my Facebook Page, formerly named Vagina Devil Magic (until Facebook/Meta had a hissyfit about it, which was the catalyst of me renaming it just to my name), and my friend, James, said, "Hey, why don't you make this a regular column?"

At first I'm like "Who has time for this shit?" But then I did and it just took on a life of its own.

Then people were saying things like, "You're publishing these into a book, right? RIGHT?"

So I did. And then I published a second volume. And honestly, as UNdocumented as so many women's accomplishments are, there is also SO much more material out there that this series could go on forever. I fully intend on a Volume III at minimum. We'll see how I feel after that. :)
