Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?

Nicky Wheeler-Nicholson I've been working towards a biography of Major Malcolm Wheeler-Nicholson for at least 10 years. The publisher at Hermes Press and I had talked about putting out a second book of the Major's pulp stories related to the comics they became. It dawned on me that rather than doing a reprint of the pulp stories we should do reprints of the comics themselves. This is what Hermes Press does best. David Armstrong, a well-known collector and historian of comics did the Herculean task of rounding up over 170 pages of rare original art for the book. I wrote an abbreviated biography using the comics to tell the story graphically. I felt this would be a good way to introduce the Major to a larger audience.
