Goodreads asked Dean Corbyn:

How do you get inspired to write?

Dean Corbyn Almost every day growing up, my Mom would say, 'I should write a book." She never did.
Later in life, I began quoting her same line. Ten years ago, I purchased my little black book - for note-taking, ideas, and plot creation. I made several attempts to develop the details for a plot, start-to-finish, but never managed to complete a draft. I gave up.
But then, when COVID hit, it finally gave me the focus and time I needed to sit down and complete it. So... inspiration to write stemmed from my mother, but the pandemic was the catalyst. I see it as the good and evil reasons behind my inspiration - the perfect combination for a story like The Jorvik Prophecy.
