Goodreads asked A.S.R. Gelpi:

What’s your advice for aspiring writers?

A.S.R. Gelpi To read a lot and write a lot. Reading not only helps you increase/enhance your vocabulary, but it also allows you to study pacing, structure, character development, and the like. You analyze how other authors approach a problem and learn from their approaches. Writing is key. This is how you find your voice, and this is also how you get better at it. I won't tell you to write every day (that's what I do because it worked for me), but setting up a writing schedule and sticking to it is key to getting your book out. Also, writing takes TIME. You can't rush it. Let the story breathe, return to it. It takes me a good two years from the moment I start to the moment I say, "This story is ready for publication." So allow yourself the time.
