Jack Getze Long ago, Ms. Upcoming Star Crime Novelist (NINE DAYS from St. Martin's this fall). About 15 years ago, my wife and I were out for dinner. Her fund raising business was booming while my stockbroker business had about run its course. I liked to fire clients who gave me too much crap. I had three left. So my wife says "I need a housewife" at that dinner I mentioned, and I jumped on it like a cat on a rat. "I'll be your housewife," I said. "It'll give me more time to write." Boy was I wrong, and it's a job I can't dump even past retirement age. Only five novels in the 15 years. I have to run now. The dishes are piling up.
