I finished this book three nights ago. I feel this book carries several themes throughout but for me I felt love was one of the strongest... the love between Jackie and Rob, the love Rob had for his friends, his friends for him and the love you had for your roommate. So my question is what is the status of the rift between Jackie and the Burger Boyz? How are they doing?
Jeff Hobbs
Thanks so much for reading and recognizing the various, loving relationships that form the center of this book, as they formed the center of Rob's life. Everyone is doing fine--everyone is very happy that Rob can continue to reach people--though the rift you asked about continues. There is love on both sides, of course, but grief is a powerful force. All the best, sincerely, Jeff

Had Carl not stolen his ill gotten gains, do you think he would have changed his path? I have A LOT of experience with marijuana users in my family and it does make you lazy. Was it easier to deal than find a real job, before or after teaching? And as someone once told me, I was book smart but life naive. Did that fit Rob? Not to speak ill of him. He in no way deserved this. I saw the Carl thing coming?

Greetings Jeff I must first say, in light of the current atmosphere of American blacks, my soft heart keeps me feeling merciful and teary-eyed lately. Robert has almost left me feeling hopeless. Admittedly, I thought you were an opportunist and insincere but after research I've found you genuinely loved him and wanted to set the record straight for those who equated him to just a ghetto-drug kid. Tk U4 that?
