Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?

Richard Abbott The collapse of the Late Bronze Age, and the arrival of the Sea Peoples, is one of the defining moments of ancient Middle Eastern history. Nobody quite knows what happened, but the overall impact was to sweep away cultures which had been established for centuries. What was it like to live in those times? To be displaced by incoming armies, and your city burned? Sadly, it is a situation still afflicting that region. I wanted to write this story following each of several different groups, to get a sense of the whole tapestry of culture and life.
