Goodreads asked Stacy N. Sergent:

What’s your advice for aspiring writers?

Stacy N. Sergent My best advice is simply to write, and to find other people who write. My writers' group has been the most valuable resource in my writing life. When the muse refused to descend, they kept me writing anyway. And when I wasn't sure where (if anywhere) my book was going, they listened to me read a chapter from it and gave me the gift of outside opinions. The writing life can be an isolating one, but it doesn't have to be. Find a local writers' group if you can. And if you can't, go on a group writing retreat or join a group online. The input (and commiseration) of other writers is invaluable.
