I know you're American but you write in British English, how did you decide to do this, and was it ever difficult?

Jessica Jude My books are all set in the fictional country of Wesbourne, an island country in the middle of the Atlantic. Because I'm obsessed with all things British, I thought it would be fun to incorporate some of their slang and turns of phrase. So while I don't technically write British English, I like to sprinkle fun little phrases throughout. As for it being difficult, I read a lot of British novels so that makes it easier to think that way when I'm writing. The hardest one is calling a sidewalk "pavement," haha!
