Hello, Mr. Barclay! I am a little late to the game, I just finished No Time for Goodbye and I think this book is brilliant, absolutely fascinating, so thank you! I was curious - what made you decide to tell the story through Terry s eyes rather than Cynthia s? Did you feel his perspective allowed readers to experience the mystery in a different or more effective way? thank you!
Linwood Barclay
I wrote that book 19 years ago, so I might not recall why I made the choices I did, but I think writing from Terry's point of view meant we shared his anxiety and puzzlement about what happened to Cynthia. If I told the story from her perspective, we'd lose the uncertainty about whether she might have had something to do with her family's disappearance. That book was just made into a TV series in France, by the way, called Cette suit-la. Thanks for the kind words.

First,I have to say that I LOVE your books. I came across them at my local library and have read almost all of them. I have 2 questions. First, How long does it usually take you to complete a book from start to finish? And Second , What other Author do you think is most like your writing style? Im looking for some more books just like yours to hold me over while I wait for you to do more!! I am always left shocked!

Not a question really but just wanted to say how ecstatic I am that you are going to Harrogate this year. I asked you last year and you said you couldn't make it so I was delighted to see you are this year. In fact I just bought a weekend long ticket just to make sure I get to meet you!!!!! :) Oh and I just realised goodreads won't let me post this without a question mark?
