First,I have to say that I LOVE your books. I came across them at my local library and have read almost all of them. I have 2 questions. First, How long does it usually take you to complete a book from start to finish? And Second , What other Author do you think is most like your writing style? Im looking for some more books just like yours to hold me over while I wait for you to do more!! I am always left shocked!

Hi Heather: Thanks for the kind words. I usually write a first draft of a novel in about three months. How much more time I spend on it depends on how good that first draft is. Sometimes it's just a few weeks, other times I've spent more time rewriting the book than I did on the first draft. As for others who write like me, I'm less sure what to tell you. I'm often mentioned alongside Harlan Coben, who's terrific, although I think we have different styles. There are so many writers whose books I love, it's hard to single any out. I think you would probably love Lisa Gardner and Tess Gerritsen.

As a high school English teacher, I Will Ruin You is just about the worst horror story imaginable. You've featured teachers before and I didn't always buy all the details--I feel I can freely say that since your acknowledgments give a lovely nod to the teachers of this world (and I love your books). I suppose my question is this: Would you ever want to talk to one who has taught high school English for eighteen years?
