How do you get inspired to write?

Bill Thorness My books are about things that I really enjoy doing: gardening and cycling. When I get out and do either of those activities, they're very physical, and my brain kind of goes into neutral. Often that's when I will have an idea for a new blog post or something that I want to research and write.

So I guess the inspiration comes from doing the activity. I don't think I'd recommend that for a serial killer novelist , but it works for how-to non-fiction!
