How do you get inspired to write?

Yve Bowen I feel an impulse arising within me, most often that's how it will start. Something wants to express itself and I allow myself to be the vehicle, the vessel for that. Other times I write to have a sane outlet for my painful emotions. At other times I write when I feel deeply moved in some way.

I have learned to trust these impulses and don't push or force myself to write. I find pushing myself to be counterproductive and that creates a sense of tension rather than joyful expression - which kind of defeats the whole purpose of creative expression...
