Why Everyone Should Watch High-Drama Medical Shows
After 17 years of Grey's Anatomy, a decade of House MD, a few seasons of New Amsterdam and 2 episodes of The Good Doctor, this is my recommendation for anyone who thinks that lady doctors walk in 4 inch stilettos everyday.
1.
Doctors spend a lot of time on learning how to ask for their own needs.
It's not easy.
2.
More teens find themselves calling a doctor after midnight when they feel like life getting too much for them. The pills, the overdose, a slit marks - are never too far.
We answer these calls every single time.
3.
We've grown used to repeating this sentence -
"Don't use a permanent solution for a temporary problem."
We worry.
We call back.
We maintain confidentiality and still make sure the support arrives.
It's not easy.
