Goodreads asked Michelle Rene:

What’s your advice for aspiring writers?

Michelle Rene If you have any desire to do anything else, don't be a writer. The writing part can be difficult enough, and the industry will break you in half. Like most things creative, to survive being a writer you have to love it beyond reason or sanity. If you don't, then I suggest doing something else and writing in your free time. However, if you are like me and can't function without writing, as though it were food, then write and never stop. No matter what anyone tells you, your insanity for writing is there for a reason. If you weren't meant to write then it wouldn't hurt so badly when you stop. So advise my fellow crazy people to write and listen to no one else but your crazy, mixed up writer brain.
