Are Wiley, Noah and the other characters based on your life, or experiences? This was simply one of the best books I have ever read.

Nick Wilgus That's a good question. I'm a father, so I drew on that experience, of course, although my son is not a special needs kid. None of the characters in the book are based on actual people, but they *are* based on the types of people I've met over the years. It's been suggested that the character of Wiley was based on me, but that isn't true. I'm nothing at all like him (though sometimes I wish I was). Thanks for reading!
