Goodreads asked Yvonne deSousa:

What’s your advice for aspiring writers?

Yvonne deSousa Always, always be open to advice and input from others, even if you don't like it. At the same time, trust your instincts. It is a balancing act between knowing when you are right and someone else is wrong, and vice versa, but work at it. I took a lot of advice that I didn't want to hear and it helped me greatly. At the same time, when I constantly disagreed with my first editor I figured that she had more experience than I did and I should just listen to her. But it never felt right and thankfully, I decided to try another editor and that made a ton of difference. The second editor saw exactly what I was trying to do and together we turned MS Madness! into the book I had planned the whole time!
