Goodreads asked Alex E. Carey:

What’s your advice for aspiring writers?

Alex E. Carey Write! Just do it! Don't let anyone tell you that you can't, shouldn't or discourage you in any way. Marsha Sinetar said, "Do what you love and the money will follow." Steve Jobs said, "The only way to do great work is to love what you do." Carrying those principles to my writing, I write for me, because I love it, and I had stories inside that just had to get out. I wrote bits and pieces here and there, on breaks and such. The next thing I knew, I had enough for a book and I decided I wanted to share my stories with others. Self-publishing has opened up many avenues to authors who might not have been published before. You have every reason to go for it, and nothing to hold you back.
