Inspiration is a fickle muse. It's great when she's there, but it's tough when she's gone. If you want to finish your novel, you can't do it on inspiration alone. You've got to tough it out through the difficult passages, page by page, paragraph by paragraph. There's great satisfaction in holding that finished manuscript in your hands and saying to yourself, "This was a lot of work!"

Do you think it appropriate to throw around words such as "fascist" and "racist" when writing about Donald Trump? Your diatribe reveals an deep-seated dislike bordering on hatred. You lament about his lack of experience and yet you hold up Obama, who's claim to fame was his career as a ward boss and the fact he give a good speech. Perhaps I should be more kind and simply regard it as west coast mania.
