What are you currently working on?

David Bulitt Currently, I am working on my second novel, tentatively titled "Because I Had To". After finishing CARD GAME, I felt that the Jess character had more of a story to tell, so I decided to pick up a year after CARD GAME ends. Jess has moved a thousand miles away to Florida and is almost completely alienated from her Mom, with whom she has always had a tenuous and complicated relationship. At the same time, JB, the divorce lawyer from CARD GAME, has continued his search for fulfillment in the wake of his friend's death a year earlier. Written from dual points of view, BECAUSE I HAD TO follows JB plumbing the meaning of family amid wrecked families, while Jess struggles to find her biological parents.
