Usually I think of a character or a situation, and if it is interesting enough part of a story unfolds and tries to take over my head until I write it all down. Sometimes my ideas seem to come from nowhere, but they rarely come when I am in the middle of the business of everyday life. I need to find some quiet time to let the ideas brew. Being outside under a tree is a great way to relax and feel inspired.
