Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?

James Farner The War Years series comes from a general interest in history. Michael Morpurgo's work is a big inspiration of mine. The original Made in Yorkshire series, again, comes from my interest in history. But I'm also inspired by the passage of time and the transformation of societies as one gets older. That's why I have such a marked contrast between tiny country villages and big cities within that specific series.
