Janet Walmsley
Janet Walmsley asked Ian Thomas Malone:

I have just finished my first book and wow I have learned a lot during the whole process. It is been a very unique journey I must say however enjoying the process of it all. I agree with you Ian at times I needed to get away from it and give myself a recharge by doing something else. What are some examples of what writers do to recharge or regroup themselves?

Ian Thomas Malone Congratulations on finishing your first book Janet! That must be very exciting and also relieving!

I have a couple "come down" habits when I finish a first draft. I usually pick out something light to read that has nothing to do with whatever I just wrote. I don't read fiction while I'm writing drafts either so that's always fun to return to.

I'd also recommend trying a new hobby. You probably have lots of leftover energy that you may not want to use on the written word. Using it a different way will help you recharge.
