Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?

Jesse Sublett I found it by accident. It's a true crime history of Austin. I was searching through Austin American Statesman archives in the year 2000, looking at the year 1976. I found a sensational front page crime story of gangland killings in Austin that flashed back to the 1960s and gave a thumbnail history of this gang of Austin safecrackers, pimps, drug dealers and all-around thugs, led by a former college football player named Timmy Overton.
