Goodreads asked Terry Lee:

What’s your advice for aspiring writers?

Terry Lee Just do it. Keep learning.
Give yourself permission to just write. Don't critique while writing...anything goes. Edit/critique later.
Re-read your last couple of paragraphs when you sit down again to get your mind back in the flow.
Immediately write down any and all thoughts, ideas, lines, scenarios you like...don't rely on remembering them later.
Try, try, try not to compare yourself to other writers.
Identify your intent...ie, why are you writing? I was 55 when I started writing. I didn't have the time to go through the channels of trying to land an agent. My intent was to hold a book in my hand with TERRY LEE on the cover. Sure, making NY Times best-sellers list would be great...so would being a pick in Oprah's Book Club. See where I'm going? My first novel was published in 2012, the year I turned 60...
