Goodreads asked Stacey Field:

What’s your advice for aspiring writers?

Stacey Field The best advice I can give is do not compare your writing to others, it will only deter you from writing. Great books can have an intimidating affect on a first time author and you sometimes wonder if what you're writing is good enough. Ignore the inner demons and put pen to paper (or fingertip to keyboard whatever floats your boat)
Also, know your novel inside out. Read and re-read to make sure there are no mistakes anywhere (this is something I deeply regret) Don't worry about getting the story right first time, write the bare bones of the book and add bits in later or change chapters completely (this is what I ended up doing!)
The internet is not your friend! Turn off your phone, get in the zone and if that means listening to music to get a certain mood going do it!

I hope I've helped you :)
