How do you get inspired to write?

Susan P. Baker I've just always wanted to write for as long as I can remember. There's so much material out there to write about that my files are bursting open. And I find I get grumpy if I don't sit down and write pretty frequently. BUT, I do find it hard to be creative when someone is building a house RIGHT next door, within feet of my office, which happened this year for about 6-8 months. I can edit. I can critique. I can do a lot of things, but my creativity is stifled. What I write under those circumstances is not my best work.
