Just curious, why did you pick the Alcubierre drive as the means of interstellar travel, and not a different theory?

I didn't want to soft-SF it by handwaving some generic FTL drive, and the Alcubierre theory is one that isn't used too often in SF. (Shorter answer: it sounded good at the time. ;) )

The first 3 books in the Frontlines series captured my imagination with precise clarity. I started thinking I'm not gonna like this story. It wasn't in the style of so many Science Fiction tomes I've read, and really loved. Yet, I couldn't stop, and with Luke Daniels masterful presentation I was hooked. It's the details .. I think you had way more help than acknowledged. Am I right?
