This isn't a question :-) just wanted to say that your Fiona Griffiths series is my absolute favorite contemporary mystery / police procedural / thriller series. And I read so many books in those genres I'm actually starting to run out. Please keep going, and keep up the incredible quality of your plotting, writing, and characterization. Finally, do you feel any pressure to write faster? I hope not.
Harry Bingham
Wow! Well, thank you! And what very fine taste you have, if you don't mind me saying so. As for pressure to write faster . . . no. I'm committed to writing a book a year which suits me fine. I tend to spend the summer thinking. Then start writing in earnest in autumn (fall). Then have a complete draft by about March. Spring is spent tidying up, and so it goes round. Every single time I finish a book, though, I think "this is the last half-decent thing I'll ever write! Aaargh! I'm finished. That, roughly, is the stage I'm at now . . . "

So you have a short in Lev's voice. Is his backstory calling to be written to you? He's an unusual character. That makes him interesting. There is suggestion that his past is full of action, love, lost love and political conflict. Thank you. I've only just read the first two Fiona books. The speed the story takes by the second book is impressive. I'm hooked. Thank you for a good lot of great reading.
