What inspired you to write the Lovely Vicious series? How did you create characters like Isis and Jake?

Sara Wolf Hey Sam,

Man, sometimes I have no idea how I came up with them. Sometimes I like to think I crafted them from the ground up, but I know better than that - we're all influenced by what we love. I happen to love funny books; Megan McCafferty's Sloppy Firsts was a BIG influence in my younger years. I also read tons of shoujo manga. I decided to write characters I love - an awesome, kick-ass, hilarious girl and the chilly, mysterious guy she can't figure out. I wanted humor, I wanted love-hate, I wanted boy-meets-girl-but-can't-stand-her. And things just snowballed from there!
