Goodreads asked Suzy Davies:

What’s your advice for aspiring writers?

Suzy Davies I started out writing as a hobby. Now, it is almost a full time occupation. I believe you need to commit yourself to several years of very hard work to achieve your goal, if you wish to become a professional writer. My advice would be, if you are young, start now. If you are of mature years, don't be discouraged - start now. I think all writers "have" to write because they have something to say to the world. Just make certain you say it well. I believe writers are good observers and listeners. The world watches, and waits, and listens for new voices. With a little bit of luck on your side, hard work, marketing savvy, steely commitment to your job, and a strong self-belief, you may be heard! Just be someone who doesn't give up, and aspires to getting better and better.
