How do you get inspired to write?

Susan Kite I have always enjoyed writing; did a little when I was still in jr. high and high school, mostly what is now called fan-fiction. (Loved Star Trek, etc.) When I was in a bad work situation, when my kids were almost grown, I began writing again as a release. Again, it was fan-fiction, Zorro this time, thinking I could sell it since the movie had come out by that time.(Wrong on that assumption, but the internet allowed easy publication of stories.) I wrote in various fandoms for a decade before trying my hand at writing original novels.
