Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?

Pearl A. Gardner The Scent of Bluebells is a romantic story about the second world war. I asked my grandparents, parents and mum-in-law some years ago, (while they were still alive), to tell me about their experiences during this time. They kindly wrote down as much as they could remember and gave the notes to me.
The story is purely fiction, but includes a lot of detail from their memories, together with some fact based research notes I made. I loved writing this book as I felt they were all looking over my shoulder, encouraging me. I felt I got to spend extra time with them while I wrote.
