In 2005 I visited the New York Historical Soceity's exhibit Slavery In New York and was intrigued by the many aspects of slavery as commerce in humans beings and that New York City, as the financial capitol of the nation, was also a crucial part of the slave trade and of the trade in slave-produced goods.
