What’s your advice for aspiring writers?

Brian Barr Write the type of books you want to write and are passionate about. A 'writer' told me I needed to write more "mainstream" work, and he's one of those types that's focused on fame and fortune more than a genuine love of the craft. Screw that. I'm a writer, my heart is in this. When you read my work, I want you to see and feel that love. If you're a writer, I hope you write from a genuine passion for the craft as well. Go with your heart and your love. Whether you're a household name or not, you'll never falter.
