Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?

Deborah Cannon I read a news item about a religious artifact that was stolen from a church. It came with a legend about how it was left on the shores of Positano by pirates who believed the sea was pummelling them because they had stolen it. I already had my three main characters: a billionaire archaeologist, his bodyguard, and a museum illustrator. Two guys and a girl. An adventure clearly presented itself. All that remained was to create a plot around these elements.
