I just finished reading White Lilies and this book literally had me laughing and crying ( sometimes at the same time) however I wanted to know what inspired you to write this story, I mean was it from a personally experience like knowing someone that went through such an event or something else entirely? Samantha Christy Natalie - first off, thank you so much for the 5-star rating. I'm flattered that you love the book. To answer your question, no. I do not have any personal experience with surrogacy (pregnancy, yes - 4 times). This was a story that had been rolling around in my head for a year or so and it finally bugged me so much, I had to write it down. I wanted to write a story with a strong female friendship, but I wasn't sure how readers would feel about Skylar falling for her friend's husband. I agonized over how quickly the Skylar-Griffin relationship could play out. I, myself, cried several times while writing this book. I felt like I was Skylar. I felt like I was Erin. It's an amazing experience to get in the heads of my characters so deeply that I can make you think I went through the experience myself. That is the greatest compliment you can give me.
