Goodreads asked David Devine:

How do you get inspired to write?

David Devine As an author who believes the Bible, I would like to say it was what inspired me to write...but that would be a lie. The true answer is that God works in mysterious ways. In my case, He brought to my mind prose by Benjamin Franklin that goes: “If you would not be forgotten as soon as you are dead, either write something worth reading or do things worth writing.”

Paul Gautschi had done something worth writing about, so I purposed to write something worth reading (about him). Yes I was a new author, but he didn't care about that and offered supportive mentorship regarding writing styles he admired as we collaborated along the way. DD
