Goodreads asked Jackson Lear:

How do you deal with writer’s block?

Jackson Lear I don't think I've ever had writer's block per se, but I've certainly had writer's fatigue, where I simply can't be bothered writing any more of this particular story. Perhaps the original ending I had before I began the story no longer fits, leaving me unsure of how to get to any ending, let alone the one I'm about to discard. If that happens I'll easily abandon the book for a while and jump to something else.

Eventually I'll return to the unfinished draft. I'll go back a couple of chapters and find the point where the story started to head towards total crapdom. From that point I will try and take the book in a new direction. As soon as I get to the end I can go back and make it look as though this direction was the plan all along.
