Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?

Mandy Jackson-Beverly The idea for the story of "A Secret Muse," came to me through snippets of ideas, from images of everyday life, my nightly dreams, and my deep love of art and history. I remember being in the art studio where I was teaching high school AP art classes, it was late at night...I reached out to touch one of my student's paintings and I began crying. I wondered who would nurture my students when they left for college, who would encourage their creativity? Their exceptional portfolios inspired me to write "A Secret Muse."
