Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?

A.L. Michael My next book coming out in autumn is called Without You To Hold. I got the idea when my editor at the time sent an email asking for a Christmas novel. I started to think about how Christmas is a time when everything is magnified. All the problems you have with your family, issues with a partner, everything is suddenly huge! And yet, on the other hand, it's all about joy and goodwill and presents and excitement. I wanted to write about a crazy family at Christmas, with lots of drama and bittersweet moments, and a good love story! The idea appeared pretty much fully formed and I've loved writing it!
