Kimberly asked Kevin Marsh:

Hi Kevin, I love your novels and am excited to read The Gordian Knot. I would love to know about your research process. How do you bring such history to life?

Kevin Marsh Hello Kimberly, I love history and study it all the time. When I have an idea for a book I will research the history around the subject and try to pick up bits of interesting information that I can use in my plot. The story usually develops, especially as my characters come alive, then I usually find that I have to research some more. Sometimes I'm inspired by a place I'm visiting, for example in The Belgae Torc, Orlagh comes from Dublin. Maria has family in Ireland so we visit there occasionally. When I was in the National Museum in Dublin, I saw an Iron Age exhibition, the cases were full of golden torcs and jewellery, it was awe inspiring. I did this twenty years ago and the memory has lodged in my brain developing until it all came out in my book. This is usually how it works for me. Its amazing what's lodged in my head, waiting to spring out and inspire me.
