To be honest, it's my imagination. I have a very vivid and very dark imagination and this provides me with tonnes of material.
Odd things will also inspire me. For example, Bonds was inspired by a stone sarcophagus I saw at the back of a village church whilst I was attending a wedding. Something I didn't expect to see in such a setting.
