What’s your advice for aspiring writers?

Adele Archer Was it Oscar Wild who said, 'Be yourself, everybody else is already taken'? I don't know - somebody said it. Perhaps we ought to Google it..? Anyway, it wasn't me, that's for sure. But it's something I wholeheartedly agree with. There's only one you and if you put that into your writing, then you've already written something unique. Even if you have to break the rules a little bit to do it. It took me an unbelievably long time to realise that. Perhaps I'm a bit slow on the uptake...
