Hello Jeff, id like to thank you for the wonderful book that you have written knowing how hard it would have been for you writing about one of your closest friend loss. What or who do you think had the most impact in success of Roberts success with education?

Hi and thank you for reading and reaching out so thoughtfully -- it means an awful lot, for real. So sorry for the years-long delay in responding. I really don't spend time on social websites but am trying to be better about that, as my next book called Show Them You're Good comes out in August, about young men in different neighborhoods finishing high school and aspiring for college. As for your question, it can't be answered without mentioning both his mother and father--his other who fiercely loved and sacrificed for him, his father who used prison phones to call and go over his homework. And the most meaningful part of writing the book was spending time at St. Benedict's, his high school, where he definitely thrived under the strict demands. I hope that answers your question. I know it's been a long time. But regardless, sending all my best, sincerely, Jeff

Dear Mr. Hobbs, I just finished your book and can tell you that it will haunt me for a long time. Your tireless effort to tell Rob’s story is an incredible testament to your friendship. I can’t even begin to imagine the ongoing grief that continues with all of Rob’s family and friends. Can you tell me what house is on the cover of the book? It doesn’t seem to be the house on Chapman or Smith. Thank you.

Hi Jeff, we discussed the "The Short and Tragic Life of Robert Peace....." at our discussion group on 2/21/17. Many interesting questions came up in regards to race, class, wealth, privilege, etc. Lingering questions for me are as follows: 1. Is the scholarship still in effect? Truly a way to honor Mr. Peace and assist a young person. 2. Did Rob's mom receive any financial contribution from the book? Thank You!

Jeff, First off, let me say that your book literally made my top 10 (maybe top 1) list of all time. I love the way you write and truly felt like I was there with you during the story. I have thought often of contacting you with a book idea (which you probably receive all of the time)! Is there a good way to contact you about this? Thanks again for such a powerful book. Stacy
