How do you get inspired to write?

Steven Welch Everything, the good and bad around you, everything can inspire. I once thought that writing came from pain, personal pain or some sort of angst, but it doesn't. Not every time. It can come from love and from hope and from just living. Travel. Make friends. Make an enemy. Feed a frickin' squirrel. Make dinner. Writing is life and if you're alive you'll have inspiration. I guess, if you're dead but aware, that's inspiration too.
