Amy Kaufman
Amy Kaufman asked Maria V. Snyder:

Hi Maria! I've been a fan of the Study and Glass series for years, so in honor of the 10th anniversary, I'm listening to them all on audiobook. I've finished the Study series (read by Gabra Zackman) and am on to the Glass series (read by Jennifer Van Dyck). I've noticed that there are a few differences in pronunciation between the two narrators; who's narration has the more "proper" pronunciations?

Maria V. Snyder Hi Amy! I'm glad you've enjoyed my books. Interesting you should ask about the audio books, I was just in New Jersey sitting in on Gabra Zackman's session - she's recording Night Study right now!

As for your question, Gabra has the correct pronunciations as she contacted me back when she read Poison Study and asked how the character names should be pronounced and she still does that with the new books as well. I had wanted a different narrator for the Glass books so Opal would have her own "voice" and I thought the new narrator would listen to the Study books, but she didn't (she probably didn't know they were related). I should have followed up on that, but at the time I was busy writing two books a year. Now, I insist that Gabra does ALL my audio books :).
