Autumn Tumbleson
Autumn Tumbleson asked April Henry:

So far I've read Girl Stolen, The Girl Who Was Supposed to Die, and I am planning on reading The Night She Disappeared. I really love your stories and my question is how to you come up with the plot for your books?

April Henry Most of my books (except Supposed to Die) start with a real-life crime. But I only take the first part of it and then I usually make it bigger and more complicated than the real crime. Once I have an idea, I will come back to it over and over, asking myself how I can make it bigger and worse and what the moments of drama will be. I might spend several months doing this before I start writing it.
