Goodreads asked Kelli Stuart:

How do you get inspired to write?

Kelli Stuart I've always loved writing. I was the kid who scratched out stories on torn notebook paper during the free moments of her days. I filled journal upon journal with broad stories of life, sometimes slightly embellished, chronicling each day with great dramatic flare.

Writing is really just a part of my every day, but sometimes the words get all jammed up inside, and those are the times that I know I need to step away. I'll spend a few days just reading to clear my mind and breath inspiration. Or I'll get outside, have a dance party with my kids. Stepping away does so much to fuel a writer's brain. We need white spaces in order to keep creating, so I work to build in those white spaces when I can, particularly when I'm looking for a bit of inspiration.
