I am working on the next book in the DON series, Rowen's Bite. It's a retelling of Little Red Riding Hood.
I've really enjoyed researching the tropes associated with both the story and the Big Bad Wolf character. The hardest part has been crafting a plot that does the characters justice while staying true to their folktale roots.
Another challenge will be pushing to keep the characters unique and memorable without becoming unlikable, silly, or stupid.
